Trump Sparks Outrage After Threatening to Deport a Hollywood Icon

Hollywood icon Robert De Niro pulled no punches in his critique of Donald Trump, branding him a fool and warning that he poses a threat to the nation’s survival.

In response, Trump is firing back—issuing a severe threat of his own.

As Donald Trump delivered his record-breaking State of the Union address on February 24—an extensive speech spanning nearly an hour and 47 minutes—a starkly contrasting event was unfolding across town.

At the alternative “State of the Swamp” gathering, which drew prominent figures like Don Lemon and Mark Ruffalo, the keynote speaker was Robert De Niro—and he was completely unfiltered.

The 82-year-old actor, who has been a vocal critic of Donald Trump for nearly a decade, doubled down on his position during a recent appearance on MSNBC’s The Best People with Nicole Wallace podcast.

“He’s an idiot. We need to get rid of him. He’s going to ruin the country,” De Niro declared.

During the same interview, he warned, “The narrative is our nation, and Trump is ruining it, and who knows what his motives are, but it’s disturbing, it’s messed up. We need to rescue the nation.”

At the counter-event, he described the president as “failing, flailing and desperate,” having previously labeled him a “buffoon,” an “enemy of this country,” and even a “vicious dictator.”

This time, however, Trump struck back with unprecedented ferocity.

In a lengthy post on Truth Social, the president attacked the Goodfellas star, calling him “demented” and claiming he suffers from “Trump derangement.” He then escalated the rhetoric—suggesting deportation.

Referencing Democratic Representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, who had staged protests during his address, Trump proclaimed that they “should actually get on a boat with Trump Deranged Robert De Niro, another sick and demented individual with, I believe, an extremely low IQ, who has absolutely no clue what he is doing or saying — some of which is seriously CRIMINAL!”

He continued: “When I saw him break down in tears last night, much like a child would, I realized that he may be even more unwell than Crazy Rosie O’Donnell…”

Despite the fact that De Niro is a New York native and a lifelong American citizen, Trump’s comments about deportation stunned many observers and marked a major escalation in their persistent feud.

The president wrapped up his post with a boast:

“The good news is that America is now Bigger, Better, Richer, and Stronger than ever before, and it’s driving them absolutely crazy!”

Meanwhile, De Niro has firmly held his ground.

“You have to lift people up,” he stated with passion during the podcast. “You have to bring them together. Period. You can’t divide people. You can’t win that way.”

Nevertheless, with Trump now publicly floating threats—even if purely rhetorical—the bitter clash between Hollywood’s most outspoken critic and the president appears to be far from over.
